So me and my hubby have been homeowners since march 6th!!! This is old news to some, but I thought Id catch up on the “going ons”. We have done so much in the house already its hard to keep up!!!!
So thats our house đ
One of the first things we did was paint my kitchen cabinets!!! I wasnt really into the whole dark cabinet look soo…..
I went with a blue-ish grey, from True Value i think the color was called wet seal or blue seal…I dont remember but it was a grey color pallet. Then we went with white accents and yellow for the walls! Ive still got lots more ideas so I am not quiet saying the kitchen is finished đ but its getting there!
Next I worked on my Kitchen cabinet handles…they were gross to say the least. I seriously considered throwing them away but I was encouraged by my little sister to try cleaning them. So we soaked them in white vinegar for a few hours… and I was amazed at how different they looked!! So glad I didn’t throw them away!!!
Next we started in on painting our living room, we have the main walls done and have yet to do our trim…
Our newest project is our floors, we sanded them down and stained them with “English Chestnut” Minwax…Its so much work!! And so much dust!!! but well worth it from the looks of it so far… đ In other words I love it!! We still have our dining room and upstairs to do, but were getting there!
So yeah that the going ons of our new home projects for our first month!!! đ Its a lot I know but my hubby heads back to work very soon for the Asphalt season!!! Looking forward to this summer!!!
First of all this was my project for my sisters wedding, she wanted something different for her guests to sign. She found something like this as a poster online …was going to spend way to much on it and asked me to create it in a painting. These are the steps that it took for me to create what she wanted đ
Step One bought a $12 canvas that was 20X24, I then drew out the picture and decided which colors(Her wedding colors)Â would be needed and where they would be. Also it has around 220 leaves to sign.
Next, I painted the background a cool gray, I Decided on this since I knew the rest of it would be bright and a simple background helps pull out colors.
(On a personal note, i really liked the painting with just the background, another idea would be to have it stay gray and white with colorful signatures… đ
Next I added the colors, I was consistently asking Heidi if she like the Blue, pink, and white before I painted everything.
Last I added a more personal touch at the request of the bride đ first and middle initial- Heidi Jean + Micah David and wedding date of course đ
Over all it turned out well, guests enjoyed signing something different and now the new couple has something colorful to add to the wall of their new home đ It was a long process, but well worth it to create something for such a priceless day!
Oh and on a quick note about the maid of honors speech…yes I cried ..mostly from the overwhelmingness of the day, and also, I got almost everyone else crying too hehe đ It was a wonderful day!
